Dictionary

Here is just a small selection of words and phrases that we use from time to time. We recommend the “Google Translator” app. With this you can not only translate words and entire texts with the keyboard, but also with the camera directly and in real time. This helps immensely, especially when shopping or going out to eat. 😉

Otherwise, the Croatian language is generally spoken as it is written. Most of the time, a letter with a "roof" (e.g. the š or č) is pronounced as "sch". The "h" and the "j" usually remain silent, e.g. in "Hvala" where you just say "Vala".
