Brijuni Islands

The BRIJUNI ISLANDS are covered in almost every guidebook and are indeed a must-see - although we wouldn't recommend visiting in high season.
The only way to get to the island is by private boat or by ferry from Fazana. You can book tickets including crossing via the website. Cars are banned on the entire island (the exception being the military vehicles there), but you can rent an electric kart, an electric scooter or a bicycle.
There are some interesting things to explore, such as various Roman ruins, but the area itself is incredibly beautiful. According to the guide, there is also a safari park there, but don't expect too much here. It's more of a fairly small zoo with few animals and has nothing to do with a safari park for us. But on the way around the island you can always see free-roaming deer, goats, sheep or peacocks.
The electric kart is always our preferred choice and it takes about two hours to drive around the island...but that's not all.
Every now and then you can find a restaurant or café all over the island, but apart from a coffee in the safari park, we haven't tried anything culinary so far.
Our conclusion:
We like to visit the Brijuni Islands (with our own boat) when we have visitors, as it is a highlight in itself. But you don't have to see them more than once.
